Artist Statement

I chose to do this cause I thought “what can I do for reflections?” So I said to my dad “Dad can you help me think of something to do for reflections”? He said “Well, you know the Heart 2 Home Foundation is doing an add-on for the Gleason home. You should go take pictures of them building it because together they are redoing the home”. I thought that is a great idea so I went over and started taking pictures. I thought that it was amazing that together everyone finished the house in only 5 days and even in the rain. My Sisters, my Mom and me worked to help, but other people helped a lot more to finish this house in only a week.

The song I chose as background music says if we ask people around us to help, and work hard with our hands and hearts, we can change the world together. Lots of people worked hard together to help one family in my neighborhood.

All the pictures were taken by Wade Stout who is 10 years old except the ones where he is in the picture (driving the sweeper tractor) which was taken by Wade’s sister Rose Stout who is 15.

Wade asked permission from Presley’s parents if he could put the pictures of Presley in his project.

Wade also received permission from Heart 2 Homes to use a picture of their sign and trailer. He also told everyone on the project site that the pictures were for his reflections project as he walked around each day taking the pictures.
